COLD WATER explores the delicate beauty and chilling intensity of nature. This collection draws inspiration from the way nature interacts with life—quiet yet powerful, gentle yet unyielding. Each piece captures the essence of water in its many forms, embodying both its serene beauty and its formidable strength.
Water has long been tied to the female body, both as a source of life and as a symbol of control. Historically, water has been used as a metaphor to villainize women. They’re seen as unpredictable, dangerous, or overwhelming. My latest pieces, "UNDERCURRENTS" and "REFRACTION," reflect this layered relationship, exploring the emotions, depth, and movement that water evokes within us.
In addition to these works, I have created jewelry pieces crafted from upcycled wood, inspired by withered seashells. These pieces mirror the way time and nature shape materials, much like water shapes both the earth and the human experience.
The final three works in this collection, "TO THE MOON," "THE SWANS," and "FLOWERS FOR THE SEA", delve into the aesthetic and surface-level interactions with water. They celebrate its allure, its ever-changing reflections, and the way it captivates us, even from a distance.
